As our Head Brewer and Co Founder, Jacob is responsible for leading all production functions of our small batch 3.5BBL brewhouse. This includes recipe development, brewing operations, raw material procurement, yeast management, equipment management and quality control.
Jacob started brewing with a home kit way back in 2006. It appealed to his scientific nature and love of engineering. He was never one for “macro” lagers and was trying to make beer he couldn’t find in stores. We don’t call him The Waterboy (to his face), but his relentless focus on the quality of the water used is the base for all our brews. And Jacob’s favorite beer? Our Czech Pilsner, Belly Flop.
